5 Short, Epic Hikes: White Mountains, New Hampshire

While I do love backpacking and getting deep into the wilderness, a short hike with a great view can be just as revitalizing.These are a couple of my favorite short hikes in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. They are beautiful year round and especially magical in the fall as you’ll see in the photos below. I explored these spots during my staycation in the Whites a couple weeks ago. It was pouring rain, peak foliage and insanely gorgeous.

1. SQUARE LEDGE IN PINKHAM NOTCH

Easy/Moderate | 1.1 Mile |. Elevation Gain: 321 ft.

2. PINE MOUNTAIN NEAR GORHAM, NH

Easy/Moderate. |. 3.4 Miles. |. Elevation Gain: 846 ft.

3. BALD PEAK VIA KINSMAN TRAIL NEAR LINCOLN, NH

Moderate |. 4.4 Miles. |. Elevation Gain: 1,391 ft.

4. FRANKENSTEIN CLIFF NEAR BARTLETT, NH

Moderate | 6.5 Miles | Elevation Gain: 1,574 ft.

5. CRYSTAL CASCADE FALLS IN PINKHAM NOTCH

Easy | .8 Mile | Elevation Gain: 160 ft.
